Timegate as part of AdBIOPRO - Competence Centre for Advanced BioProduction
AdBIOPRO, a Competence Centre for Advanced BioProduction continues its highly ranked industry-academia partnership with five universities and 16 industrial partners. Over the next five years, the new funding from Sweden Innovation Agency VINNOVA and the partners will enable the Centre to significantly expand its activities and strengthen the successful developments from the past five years.

We are now starting the next period, which consolidates our highly multi-disciplinary work within continuous bioprocessing introducing more Process Analytical Technology (PAT) to support digital twins, increasing bioprocessing towards cell and gene therapies and including new technologies. We are also very glad to see that many new partners from industry and academia are joining the Centre, both developers of ATMPs as well as providers of material and equipment to the field. We expand now our very successful collaborations within AdBIOPRO backed by fresh funding and considerable support from industrial competence“, says Veronique Chotteau, Director of AdBIOPRO.We are very happy to be a part of this multi-disciplinary consortium combining several important competencies to increase the efficiency of bioprocessing and develop new solutions to cell and gene therapies. This consortium also supports our goal to increase the predictability and performance of our customers' bioprocessing with our real-time monitoring solution.

AdBIOPRO is designed to build a foundation for an important Pharma 4.0 area for integrated and continuous bioproduction. This field is of strategic importance for the industry.
The high-quality science, education and competence sharing of AdBIOPRO are very relevant for the Swedish industry and its international competitiveness and for the society at large (patients, health system) as it facilitates new biopharmaceuticals, produced more economically and more sustainably.
AdBIOPRO is one of the very few academic centres in the world focusing on continuous bioproduction, and probably the only one with such broadness of scope and collaborations. The Centre has developed collaborations nationally and internationally as shown by the number of contacts established with top academic institutions and many companies in Sweden and abroad.

AdBIOPRO is the Competence Centre for Advanced BioProduction. Under the direction of Veronique Chotteau at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, AdBIOPRO started in 2017 and has now been granted continuation for a new period of 5 years by Vinnova with a total budget of 112 mkr. This highly multi-disciplinary Centre gathers eight academic groups from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Lund University, Karolinska Hospital, Karolinska Institutet and Linköping University, as well as 16 industrial partners.
